Delhi University Admissions Procedure Stared

  • A New Session Begins at Delhi University:

The Delhi University proceeded with its admission process on 26 July 2021. In order to answer queries of aspirants an online session took place. The officials assured that the entrance tests won’t cause them inconvenience. All exams will follow the Covid safety norms.

In the online session, the issues addressed by the officials were related to the university, technical glitches, and entrance exams. This provided the aspirants with a good amount of clarity. Delhi University has started the registration process for post-graduate, MPhil, and Ph.D. courses. Nearly 21,959 aspirants had registered for around 20,000 PG seats till 5 pm on Tuesday.

  • Important Advisory:

The Education Department, Directorate of Technical Education Tashiling, Gangtok has circulated an advisory dated 28/07/2021; No. GOS/DTE/2021/1558.

Applicants from Sikkim, pursuing courses under State Quota in DU must register themselves at the university portal.

  • Online Admission Process:

Due to the COVID- 19 pandemic, the admission process will be completely online for the second year in a row. The students can easily apply for the same from home. The registration process began on July 26 and will go on till August 21. The Delhi University admission portal is quite interactive and has an Artificial Intelligence-enabled chat box that will answer all the queries immediately.

Half of the seats are merit-based and the other half are entrance-based. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the entrance tests. Most likely conducted in September. The registrar of the admission process Mr. Vikas Gupta said that students might face some technical glitches since the process is online. Therefore, they must not lose patience and go ahead smoothly.

  • National Testing Agency (NTA) to take charge:

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will get all its testing centers clean, safe, and sanitised. It will take care of social distancing so that no one feels any inconvenience. The students with fever or any other issue will be sitting separately. Thus, ensuring their safety and the safety of other students as well. The NTA has already recognized 237 cities where they will be going to conduct these examinations.

The examination pattern will be transparent. The students may challenge a question if it is wrong or the options provided aren’t the right answers. The registrar, Mr. Gupta also made students aware that they must keep their login ID and password safe with them. Most of the students have debit cards and credit cards and can initiate the payment through online mode. The classes will be conducted in both online and offline mode depending on the Covid situation. The hostel or PG facilities will be available and its allotment will be purely merit-based.
