Commercial LPG Cylinder price hiked by Rs.25

Oil companies have hiked the price of 19kg commercial Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders by Rs 25 on Sunday. 

With the latest revision in prices, the price of commercial LPG cylinders in Delhi will now cost Rs 1,769. Earlier, the 19kg cylinder was being sold at Rs 1,744.

After the hike, a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder would now cost Rs 1,721 In Mumbai, Rs 1,870 in Kolkata and Rs 1,971 in Chennai.

In Guwahati, a commercial LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 1,952.

Earlier in November 2022, the Oil marketing companies (OMC) slashed the price of commercial cooking gas across the four metro cities by Rs 115.5. In September and October as well, the OMC slashed the price of commercial gas cylinders by Rs 91.5 and Rs 25.50, respectively.

On the other hand, the price of domestic LPG prices has not been hiked for the second straight month.

However, there was no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders. The price of a non-subsidised 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in Guwahati stands at Rs 1,102.

The price of LPG cylinders is revised monthly for all states and union territories in India. The prices vary from city to city depending on the incidence of local taxes such as VAT.the middle of the month.

Oil marketing companies in the country sells 14.2 kg cylinders to domestic households at the prices prevalent in the open market, but the centre provides subsidies for 12 such cylinders to beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) each year through a direct benefit transfer to their bank accounts.
