" CM Golay Expresses Gratitude"
Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has emerged as the most popular leader in his state, with a 62.1% approval rating, according to the latest India Today Mood of the Nation poll.
This marks a remarkable rise from just 26% last year, with Prem Singh Tamang’s approval surging sharply over the past year. His rating was 55.7% in August 2024, making this the sharpest increase among all chief ministers tracked in the survey.
Prem Singh Tamang’s rise in popularity places him ahead of Tamil Nadu’s MK Stalin (56.8%) and Assam’s Himanta Biswa Sarma (55.4%).
Prem Singh Tamang’s party, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), remains a key player in the state’s politics, holding 32 out of 32 seat and the lone Lok Sabha seat within the NDA. The poll reflects broader political trends as India heads into crucial elections.
