Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a series of financial incentives and welfare measures for workers and personnel who contributed to the successful organization of Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj.
In a major decision, sanitation and health workers deployed at Mahakumbh will receive a one-time bonus of ₹10,000. Additionally, from April 2025, the minimum wage for sanitation workers will be increased to ₹16,000 per month. Temporary health workers will also receive direct bank transfers and health coverage under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
For police personnel, CM Adityanath announced a special ₹10,000 bonus and the introduction of the ‘Mahakumbh Seva Medal’ to honor their dedicated service. 75,000 police personnel who were on duty during the event will be granted a week-long break in phases as a token of appreciation.
As part of an educational initiative, the state government has established five ‘Vidya Kumbhs’ to provide free primary education to thousands of children of sanitation workers. These centers aim to bridge the educational gap by offering learning resources, structured curriculum, and official certification.CM Adityanath also highlighted the massive economic impact of Mahakumbh 2025, stating that the event is expected to contribute over ₹3 lakh crore to Uttar Pradesh’s economy.
