CM Praises PM for NE Development
Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for spearheading a transformative era in the Northeast, emphasizing the region’s unprecedented growth over the past decade.
Speaking at a public event, CM PS Tamang highlighted the Modi-led government’s commitment to the Northeast, citing large-scale infrastructure projects that have significantly improved connectivity and economic opportunities. He pointed out that under PM Modi’s leadership, the region has witnessed remarkable progress in highways, railway expansion, and air connectivity, bridging the developmental gap that once left the Northeast neglected.
“The Northeast was once considered remote and inaccessible, but today, it stands as a hub of development and opportunity,” Tamang said. He credited the Centre’s proactive policies for revolutionizing tourism, healthcare, and entrepreneurship, which have provided a major boost to the local economies of Northeastern states, including Sikkim.
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the continued support from the Central government, which has facilitated various welfare initiatives and projects aimed at uplifting the region. He reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with PM Modi’s administration to further the developmental momentum in Sikkim and across the Northeast.
Highlighting the government’s focus on inclusive growth, Tamang stressed that the initiatives undertaken in the past decade have not only enhanced infrastructure but also empowered local communities, creating employment and fostering entrepreneurship.
“As we move forward, Sikkim remains committed to contributing to the vision of a prosperous and self-reliant Northeast,” he added.
