Sikkimese woman secure rank in the Army Medical Exam

Gangtok-based Dr. Deepishika Chettri Secured All India Rank in Army Medical Examination which was held recently. Currently, she is serving in the Indian Army in Medical Corps, she is the second female officer from Sikkim to ever serve in the Indian Army.

Born in the city of Gangtok in Sikkim, Dr. Deepishika was commissioned into the Indian Army after her initial training. She completed her schooling at TNA and Birla Balika Vidyapeeth before joining the Sikkim Manipal Institue Of Medical Science for MBBS course.

She is now stepping into her 8-month field tenure on the front lines (both as a doctor and a soldier). She secured an all-India rank of 6 and 2 among ladies in the army medical exams.

She is the daughter of Shri Rajendra Kumar Chettri & Bindu Chettri of Sichey Gangtok East Sikkim.

“Dr. Deepiksha has set an example for all other young women, especially from Sikkim and the North-eastern to take up challenging careers. We wish her more laurels in the future,” The Sikkim Today Team from the studio wishing her for her future.
