State President and Upper Burtuk MLA Mr. DR Thapa, Party Legislature Party Leader Mr. NK Subba, Gangtok MLA Mr. YT Lepcha, Vice President Mr. Arjun Rai, General Secretary Mr. Bharat Dulal and other state officials, executive members and senior members were present in the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, all those present participated in the dialogue program of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi through video conference from Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal with party workers from all over the country.
Encouraging the workers across the country, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that BJP is the only party in the country which has been running the government for the past 9 years in a spirit of service by putting the interests of the country and the common people first. He inspired the workers who were directly present in Bhopal and connected from lakhs of booths across the country to connect people to the organization through the spirit of service and said that the goal of BJP workers should be determined towards society and nation building.
He enumerated the names of family-oriented parties across the country and said that all parties are in politics to secure the future of their sons and daughters.
After the completion of the video conference, various developmental work and issues were discussed between the Union Minister as well as the state officials. Meanwhile, BJP State President Mr. DR Thapa has drawn the attention of the Minister of State for Finance to the fact that the definition of Sikkim has been expanded in the recently passed Parliament and two new categories have been included in the definition of Sikkim.
During his address, the Union Minister of State gave a positive response to the memorandum submitted by the party and clarified that based on the judgment of the Supreme Court, the two categories are included in the Finance Act. He stated that these two categories are included in the definition only for income tax exemption and it is not applicable to others, although BJP is always committed to protecting the interests of Sikkim and Sikkimese, he assured that the issue will be raised at the party level and also before the Home Minister for proper resolution of this issue.
