CM P.S. Golay Meets JICA Delegation to Discuss Infrastructure Development in Sikkim

Chief Minister P.S. Golay held a meeting with a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), led by Mr. Sunouchi Tatsuhiko, Senior Director of South Asia Division 1, Tokyo. The delegation was briefed on the progress of a key infrastructure project in Sikkim.

During the meeting, CM Golay was updated on the Preliminary Project Report (PPR) submitted by the Roads & Bridges Department to the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Government of India. The report outlines plans for the upgradation of four roads and one bridge, aiming for funding under JICA’s infrastructure development initiatives.

The discussions emphasized the potential impact of the projects and explored JICA’s expertise in ensuring their successful execution. Both parties agreed on the importance of sustainable development, ensuring that the projects would be environmentally friendly and aligned with the community’s needs.

Senior officials from the Roads & Bridges Department were also present during the meeting.
