"CM P.S. Tamang Announcement "
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang announced significant benefits for former legislators. The pension will increase to ₹55,000 for those who served two or more terms and ₹50,000 for single-term legislators. These changes will take effect after the next supplementary demands for grants.
The Chief Minister also scheduled a meeting on September 4, 2024, to address the grievances of former legislators. An annual grant-in-aid of ₹20 lakh will be provided to the Former Legislators Federation of Sikkim (FLFS) for emergency and medical expenses.
Other announcements include renewing identity cards to feature the Ashoka Pillar and reviewing the priority order for accommodations at Sikkim House in Delhi and Guwahati. These initiatives demonstrate the government’s commitment to supporting Sikkim’s former lawmakers.
