"Minister Lama Attends Water Meet"
Minister for Ecclesiastical, PHE, and Water Resources Department, Ven Sonam Lama, attended the All India Water Resources meeting held in Rajasthan. The high-level meeting brought together key policymakers and officials from across the country to deliberate on critical issues related to water conservation, management, and sustainability.
The meeting was chaired by Shri C. R. Paatil, Minister of Jal Shakti, Government of India. Also present were Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan; Dr. Manik Saha, Chief Minister of Tripura; Dr. B. D. Mishra, Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh; and Shri Mukesh Agnihotri, Deputy Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.
During the session, various discussions took place on innovative water conservation strategies, inter-state cooperation, and the implementation of sustainable water resource management policies. Shri Ven Sonam Lama highlighted Sikkim’s initiatives in ensuring water security, including eco-friendly water conservation techniques, watershed management, and rural drinking water projects.
The meeting served as a significant platform for states and union territories to exchange insights and strengthen collaborative efforts in addressing water-related challenges across India. Minister Ven Sonam Lama reiterated Sikkim’s commitment to supporting national water resource management goals and working towards sustainable development.
The conference concluded with a collective resolution to enhance water sustainability efforts through policy reforms, technology adoption, and community participation, ensuring a water-secure future for the nation.
