NHPC, Teesta-V Power Station, East Sikkim observed 07 th International Yoga Day (IDY) under the theme “Be with “Yoga – Be at Home“ on 21st June, 2021 at Balutar, East Sikkim to raise awareness about the benefits of Yoga in daily life. In wake of COVID-19 restrictions and Ministry of Ayush, Govt of India guidelines, this year, International Yoga Day has been observed in non-congregative manner.
Employees and their family members performed “Yogasanas” at their respective homes from 07 AM to 07:45 AM using Online and digital resources circulated by the Ministry of Ayush, Govt of India. In his message, Shri Sanjay Darbari, General Manager (I/c), Teesta-V Power Station & Teesta-IV HE Project said that International Day of Yoga has been celebrated annually on 21 st June since 2015 with the objective of building public interest in Yoga and highlighting its importance and contribution towards public health and emotional wellness in the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic. He appealed to all the employees to make Yoga an integral part of their life and thereby ensure a healthy life for all.
