"Vision workshop"
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang inaugurated a two-day workshop titled “Viksit Sikkim Se Viksit Bharat @2047” at Manan Kendra today, marking a significant step toward aligning Sikkim’s development with the national vision of a developed India by 2047. The workshop, held on the occasion of Government Formation Day, is part of the state’s commitment to building a progressive and inclusive roadmap in sync with the Centre’s Viksit Bharat mission.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized that Sikkim’s development is crucial to the broader national goal. He announced that a comprehensive vision document for Viksit Sikkim is currently being drafted, and the ideas shared during this workshop will serve as a foundation for shaping it.
He urged government officials and departments to participate actively and sincerely, noting that inter-departmental collaboration is key to identifying areas of convergence and effective governance.
The Chief Minister congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government on completing the first year of their third consecutive term, praising their dedication to service, good governance, and the upliftment of the underprivileged. He reiterated support for the PM’s inclusive vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.”
He also commended the people of Sikkim and the state government for their resilience and cooperation, particularly during the recent golden jubilee celebrations of Sikkim’s statehood. The CM recalled PM Modi’s virtual address during the celebrations, calling it a symbol of his continued support for the state.
The Chief Minister further informed that the Prime Minister has expressed intent to visit Sikkim, tentatively in October or early November, reaffirming the Centre’s strong commitment to the state’s development.
