Sikkim Olympic Association Celebrates International Olympic Day

The Sikkim Olympic Association, in collaboration with its affiliated sports bodies, celebrated International Olympic Day at its Gangtok office with the theme “Move, Learn, Discover – Together for a Better World.” The programme reflected this spirit through a blend of sports, community service, and recognition of athletic excellence.

The event was attended by Minister N.B. Dahal, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister Jacob Khaling, senior sports officials, and representatives from various affiliated sports associations.

Messages from the Governor of Sikkim, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, and Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs highlighted the government’s commitment to the growth of sports in the state.

A felicitation ceremony honoured athletes and coaches for their national-level achievements. The celebrations also included a cake-cutting ceremony, sporting activities, and a blood donation camp — promoting unity, friendship, and service.

The event concluded with a pledge to uphold Olympic values in Sikkim’s sporting journey.
