Sikkim Police arrested Samson Tamang in Bihar

Sikkim Police arrested Samson Tamang in Bihar After 13-Day Search for Hate Speech Incident.

In a successful joint operation, Sikkim Police, led by SDPO Tashi Chopel Bhutia, captured Samson Tamang in Bodhgaya, Bihar, on Wednesday night. This arrest followed a 13-day search operation launched after a complaint accused Tamang of making hate-filled remarks targeting the Khas Community.

The operation, which involved a dedicated team including PI DP Limboo, PI Naresh Chhetri, SI Taman R. Gurung, and other personnel, spanned several key locations in North Bengal and beyond. The investigation utilized technical surveillance and intelligence inputs to track the suspect. Areas such as Siliguri, Naxalbari, Terai, Pani Tanki, and Salugara were extensively searched, and additional efforts extended to Nepal border regions, Kurseong, and Darjeeling.

The breakthrough came when technical leads pointed to Bodhgaya as a potential hiding spot. The Sikkim Police, working closely with Bihar Police in Gaya District, successfully apprehended Tamang. The accused is now in police custody as legal proceedings continue.
