Member of Parliament Indra Hang Subba met with Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth in New Delhi, urging the Ministry of Defence and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to reinforce road infrastructure in North Sikkim, particularly NH 310A and key border roads, ahead of the monsoon season.
While acknowledging the BRO’s efforts in reopening roads after the Teesta floods of October 2023, he raised concerns that heavy rainfall and landslides could once again disrupt connectivity. He emphasized the need for durable reinforcements, including slope stabilization, better drainage systems, and stronger road materials, to ensure uninterrupted access for both civilians and security forces in the region.
MP Subba reiterated his commitment to long-term infrastructure solutions, advocating for measures that will safeguard public welfare and national security in North Sikkim.
