JeeRosh Restaurant & Stay, a newly opened hospitality venture in Gangtok, is breaking new ground by committing to hire 50% of its workforce from the disability community. Officially launched on December 31, 2024, by Jeewan Dahal, a prominent member of Sikkim’s disability community, the restaurant offers a range of inclusive services, from employment opportunities to skill development for individuals with disabilities.
Located near MP Golai and the Press Club of Sikkim, JeeRosh aims to provide a comprehensive menu catering to all tastes, ensuring a diverse dining experience for every guest. Jeewan Dahal, who has experienced firsthand the challenges faced by people with disabilities in accessing job opportunities, hopes his initiative will help break down societal barriers. “There are many talented individuals within the disability community who struggle to find work matching their skills,” Dahal said. “With JeeRosh, we want to offer them a chance to thrive in the hospitality industry.”
In addition to offering employment, JeeRosh will provide skill development programs to support workers in excelling in their roles. The restaurant will also offer a 50% discount on stays for people with disabilities traveling for work-related purposes, further supporting the community.
