Hon’ble Minister for Roads and Bridges Department- Shri Samdup Lepcha visited to inspect the undergoing repairing works of Sisa Golai road in Gangtok, today.
The road stretch of Sisa Golai was completely sunk due to landslides. He was accompanied by Hon’ble MLA Shri- GT Dhungel, Advisor to Infrastructure development, Roads & Bridge’s, Water resources, PHE & Smart City, along with SDM East Shri- Robin Shewa, Shri-T.P Shangderpa Secretary to Roads and Bridge’s, Principal CE Shri- Dorjee Dadul Bhutia, AE, JE, and other concerned officials.
On the inspection, HM Shri. Samdup Lepcha directed the concerned officials to heed the progress of the ongoing works and keep updated on daily basis. He also insisted that quality works must be done and complete as early as possible for the convenience of commuters and the smooth flow of traffic in the area.
It may be mentioned here that the restoration works undertaken at the NH-10 road is finally on war footage and will be completed soon. Hence, the movement of vehicles shall be opened from the first week of July for smooth traffic.
Due to heavy rain and drainage flow in Gangtok surrounding this caused this road damage in no time, other than this building below roadside is also another trouble for this highway.
