Ola Electric Scotty
Ola’s co-founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal announced on Monday. He stated that the electric scooter factory, they are setting up in Tamil Nadu will be run entirely by women. The factory which he called the “world’s largest women-only factory”, it’s expected that it will be having a workforce of over 10,000 women along with 3,000 robots supporting them.
Also, in a tweet where he posted this announcement read, “Aatmanirbhar Bharat requires Aatmanirbhar women! Proud to share that the Ola Future factory will be run entirely by women, 10,000+ at full scale! Significantly, it’ll be the largest all-women factory in the world!!.”
He also had shared a video of the first batch of women training at the factory. He added it’s a first in series of initiatives that Ola will undertake to create a more inclusive workforce and provide economic opportunities for women.
This news has come up approximately 2 months after the pre-booking of the Ola Electric Scooters started at just Rs.499. The official which was expected to start on 8 September was postponed to September 15 due to some technical issues.
Above all, Ola is expected to make an investment of over $2 billion over a period of the next 5 years to set up electric charging infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the country. The scooter unveiled by the CEO on Independence Day has 2 variants -S1 and S1 pro priced at Rs. 99,999 and Rs.1,29,999 respectively.
