Hot Air Balloon Trial Completed in Sikkim.
As Tourism Minister Tshering T. Bhutia’s main focus is on enhancing tourism opportunities, with a priority on rural tourism in West Sikkim, he introduced a hot air balloon ride, delighting visitors at the Sikkim Rural Tourism Meet 2025.
The Adventure Cell of the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Government of Sikkim, organized a thrilling hot air balloon experience at the Sikkim Rural Tourism Meet 2025 in Uttarey. The event offered locals and visitors a unique opportunity to witness the breathtaking landscape from above, boosting adventure tourism in the region.
Residents expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, Tourism Minister Tshering T. Bhutia, Area MLA Sudesh Kumar Limboo, and Everester Kazi Sherpa, Joint Director of Adventure Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, along with the entire team, for their efforts in promoting rural tourism.
As Sikkim has successfully completed the hot air balloon trial, this will add new adventures to Sikkim tourism. In addition to this, West Sikkim is also introducing a bungee jumping spot at Singshore Bridge, Asia’s second-highest bridge, which is expected to attract more tourists.
