According to the archeological facts – Once upon a time Mahadev pleased with Arjuna’s severe penance. Mahadev appeared before him and granted him a boon, Arjuna asked for the ‘Pashupatitva’ weapon. Giving Pashupatitva, Lord Shiva said that by the use of this weapon you will get victory in the Mahabharata.
Miraculously some people even found a stone, exactly same as the Shivling at that place, after which they build a temple. This later became the “Kirateshwar Mahadev Temple”. According to the local people believe that if we circumambulate this temple, then all our troubles vanish and the mind is calm. Further Mahadev will fulfill one’s wishes and particularly the wish for a child.
