ITBP Personnel Found Dead at Raj Bhawan, Gangtok in Apparent Suicide
On 5th September 2024, Raja Ram, an ITBP personnel on security duty at Raj Bhawan, Gangtok, was found shot dead near the VIP gate between 9 PM and 12 AM. A written FIR from the Commanding Officer of 13 BN, ITBP, was received on 6th September 2024, reporting the incident.
Initial sources have confirmed it to be a case of suicide. The deceased’s body has been preserved at STNM Hospital’s mortuary for legal procedures, and the case is currently under investigation.
