A Fire Broke Out in the Gulf of Mexico

Last day, a fire broke out in the southern waters of the Gulf of Mexico as an underwater pipeline leaked and set the ocean on fire.

Generally, water and fire are considered completely different from each other. But anything can happen in this world and that is why sometimes these two also get along. Panic spread in the Gulf of Mexico, the Latin American country, when people saw huge flames rising in the bottomless waters of the sea.

These flames of the fire looked like a burning eye and looked quite frightening. The flames rising amidst the waves of water were showing a small sight of the holocaust. A fire broke out in the middle of the ocean west of the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico. Mexico’s state-owned oil company Pemex said, the fire in the sea has been extinguished.

The company has attributed the fire to a gas leak from an underwater pipeline. The company said that the fire started at 5.15 AM local time on Friday and was brought under control by 10.30 AM. With the waves of the sea on one side and huge flames of fire blazing over it, everyone who was watching that sight was in awe. Seeing this fierce fire, it was looking as if molten lava was coming out from inside the sea. That’s why people are also giving it the name ‘Eye of Fire’. 

This project is of Mexico’s state-owned oil company Pemex, which is most important to it. Meanwhile, after working hard for about 5 hours, this terrible fire had been brought under control. Even before this, there have been horrific industrial accidents in many projects of Pemex. The company has said that no one was injured in the latest incident. Nitrogen was used to douse the fire. The oil leak incident happened just 150 meters from the drilling platform. The “Ku Malub Jaap” oil project is the largest producer of Pemex Company. Every day 7 lakh barrels of oil are extracted from here. This is about 40 percent of the total oil production of Pemex Company.

Now we would like to begin a new chapter in our lives – no longer as husband and wife, but as co-parents and family for each other.”

“We began a planned separation some time ago, and now feel comfortable to formalise this arrangement, of living separately yet sharing our lives the way an extended family does. We remain devoted parents to our son Azad, who we will nurture and raise together. We will also continue to work as collaborators on films, Paani Foundation, and other projects that we feel passionate about” Said Sources.

“A big thank you to our families and friends for their constant support and understanding about this evolution in our relationship, and without whom we would not have been so secure in taking this leap. Khan and Rao met during the Lagaan Movie shoot where she was an Assistant Director in Movie. On Dec 28 2005 they married They tied the knot on December 28, 2005. And in 2011 Actor gave birth to one child Azad Rao Khan through surrogacy.

Aamir Khan was previously married to Reena Dutta. But they got divorced in 2002 after 16 years of marriage. He has a daughter Ira and son Junaid from his first marriage with Reena Dutta.

The Union Health Ministry has now prepared new guidelines for pregnant women to guide frontline workers and vaccines on counseling women about the value and precautions of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Although more than 90% of infected women recover without any need for hospitalisation, rapid deterioration in health may occur in a few and that might affect the foetus also, the fact-sheet said.

“Most women will be asymptomatic or have a mild disease, but their health may deteriorate rapidly and that might affect the foetus too. It is important that they take all precautions to protect themselves from acquiring COVID-19, including taking vaccination against COVID-19. It is therefore advised that a pregnant woman should take COVID-19 vaccines,” reported news agency ANI citing quoting the health ministry’s statement 

Covaxin is available only in India. It is made with the killed virus, and because vaccines of this type are known to be safe in pregnancy, one of the points made at the meeting of India’s vaccine advisory group NTAGI recently was: “Since killed vaccines have an established safety profile in p. women, Covaxin/ killed vaccines may be the first choice in women.”

However, on last Friday, the government announcement made no such distinction between Covishield and Covaxin for pregnant women.

The ministry advised all women to register themselves on the CoWIN portal or get themselves registered on-site at the COVID-19 vaccination centre.

Sikkim recorded 122 cases and 01 Death

Today's Covid report sikkim

Sikkim registered 122 new Covid cases on Thursday. The recovered number stand is 17998 and the Positivity Rate 15.7%, Recovery Rate 87%. as per the health department.

The district-wise figure is 59 cases recorded in the east district, 32 cases recorded in the west district, 23 in the south district, and 08 cases in the north district. The total Covid active case in the state is 2107, as per the health department, Government of Sikkim.

Today, Department said that 01 Covid death were reported. The Covid deaths toll since last year is 308.

After the courts dismissed the anti-trust lawsuit filed against Facebook Inc. for allegedly forcing the founders of Instagram and WhatsApp to sell their companies to Facebook in 2012 and 2014 respectively, the stocks of the company rallied by 4.2% on day-to-day to an all-time high of $355.64 on June 28, 2021, helping it to reach the $1 trillion territories. The stocks of Facebook have raised by 30% since the beginning of this year, primarily due to strong earnings and increasing online ad market globally.

The anti-trust lawsuits filed by Federal Trade Commission urged the court to break down Facebook into three divisions i.e. Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Another lawsuit under a similar claim was filed by 46 states challenging the purchase of Instagram and WhatsApp by Facebook. Both the lawsuits claimed that those purchases were done because Facebook feared facing stiff competition from them in near future.

Facebook had criticized those complaints on the grounds that FTC earlier had allowed those deals to happen and was unable to explain why giving permission to those acquisitions was a mistake. The case was put forward to the District Court of Columbia, Washington.

The district judge dismissed the lawsuit citing that the FTC failed to justify how Facebook had 60% market share or rather a monopoly in the social media market as claimed by them. Further, the court also dismissed the joint petition of 46 State attorneys demanding an answer on why there was a delay of so many years for filing the petition.

After the dismissal of the petitions, Facebook stocks increased in price and the company became the youngest company to reach $1 trillion in valuations. Interesting to note that Facebook has added as much as $595 billion in market valuation since the March 2020 lows. Founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook became the 5th US-based company to achieve this feat. Many Wall Street analysts predict that Facebook Inc. stock could cross the $500 bar at the end of this year.

In a report published by the United Nations on Tuesday, India has bagged the 10th position with an overall score of 97.49 in the Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI). The latest report published in the 4th edition of the GCI, with the first edition published around 6 years back. An important point to note is that India was in the 47th position in the 3rd edition of the report.

Lt. Gen(retd) Rajesh Pant, head of India’s National Cyber Security Coordinator (NCSC) gave credit to initiatives taken along with Cyber Emergency Response Team, under the guidance of our PM Narendra Modi. He also told that a National Strategy on Cyber Security is almost complete and waiting for the cabinet nod to be implemented.

The GCI is a report published by United Nations’ specialized wing or an agency dealing with telecommunication issues called as International Telecommunication Union (ITU). This union is focused on dealing with the changing cyberspace and raise awareness about the need for secure cyberspace. Each country was measured through 20 indicators with the help of around 82 questions. USA grabbed first place this year with a perfect score, followed by a tie break for the second position between Saudi Arabia and the UK. India was ranked at 4th position in the Asia-Pacific region. China, Bangladesh, and Pakistan got 33rd, 53rd, and 79th position respectively.

India has regularly raised the question of increasing cyberattacks by terrorists to spread their propaganda at various global levels including the UNSC. The post-covid era has forced the governments to revisit their cybersecurity policies as the majority of the world has been hit by a lot of cyberattacks including India. This report has come as a relief for the agencies working in this field under pressure from various organizations over data leaks.

Minister Samdup Lepcha visit Amdo Golai

Hon’ble Minister for Roads and Bridges Department- Shri Samdup Lepcha visited to inspect the undergoing repairing works of Sisa Golai road in Gangtok, today.

The road stretch of Sisa Golai was completely sunk due to landslides. He was accompanied by Hon’ble MLA Shri- GT Dhungel, Advisor to Infrastructure development, Roads & Bridge’s, Water resources, PHE & Smart City, along with SDM East Shri- Robin Shewa, Shri-T.P Shangderpa Secretary to Roads and Bridge’s, Principal CE Shri- Dorjee Dadul Bhutia, AE, JE, and other concerned officials.

On the inspection, HM Shri. Samdup Lepcha directed the concerned officials to heed the progress of the ongoing works and keep updated on daily basis. He also insisted that quality works must be done and complete as early as possible for the convenience of commuters and the smooth flow of traffic in the area.

It may be mentioned here that the restoration works undertaken at the NH-10 road is finally on war footage and will be completed soon. Hence, the movement of vehicles shall be opened from the first week of July for smooth traffic.

Due to heavy rain and drainage flow in Gangtok surrounding this caused this road damage in no time, other than this building below roadside is also another trouble for this highway.
