Brown Sugar Along With 4 Lakhs Cash Seized By Singtam Police

Singtam PS team after obtaining credible information about a drug peddling business being run from a house at Lower Lingzey Busty raided the same and seized 22.5gms brown sugar and Rs. 4 lakhs cash.

Chakra Bahadhur Khadka alias Manoj alias Mawbadi, the owner of the house absconded into the jungle and fled while his wife Geeta Chettri also a partner in the business was arrested.

A massive manhunt was launched by Singtam Police and yesterday midnight, the main accused Manoj and his accomplice Birendra Rawat alias Toofan were arrested from Lumsey. A case under relevant sections of NDPS has been registered.
The Brown Sugar business and consumption seems to have entered the far corners of the state and infiltrated far flungs villages.


It should now be the duty of civil society to curb the menace. With Cooperation from the society, Sikkim Police will surely break this syndicate.
