A 9-year-old girl in Soreng district has accused her stepfather of sexual abuse, leading to his arrest by the police.
The incident came to light on August 30 when the child revealed the abuse to a medical officer during a hospital visit. The girl alleged that her stepfather had assaulted her multiple times.
Acting swiftly on the medical officer’s report, the police apprehended the accused. A case has been filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and an investigation is ongoing to ensure justice for the victim.
