NHPC’s Teesta-V Power Station observed National Electrical Safety Week 2026 by organising a series of awareness programmes aimed at promoting electrical safety among employees, students and the local community. The week was observed under the theme, “Today’s Awareness, Tomorrow’s Safety – Let Us All Unite to Prevent Fire Hazards by Electrical Short Circuits.”
As part of the campaign, safety banners and posters were displayed across the power station premises, while a painting competition on electrical safety was organised for students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Singtam. The winners were felicitated during the valedictory programme.
NHPC also conducted a fire safety awareness and training programme in collaboration with the Fire Safety Department, Singtam, featuring demonstrations on the proper use of fire extinguishers. The Electrical Mechanical Department organised an electrical safety mock drill covering emergency response, rescue procedures, CPR and first aid.
Executive Director and Head of Power Station Jitendra Kumar urged employees to make electrical safety a part of their daily work culture, stressing that even minor negligence can lead to major accidents.
